Default Party 15-30: AJ against flop call-reraiser

I think I made several errors in this hand...

Preflop raiser had ordinary stats - no strong read there.

Now, I'm thinking that with the flop call-then-reraise by the preflop raiser, I have to put him on at least a better ace than mine. So, I guess folding (or more likely calling and check-folding the turn) is a better play there, yes?

At the time, I thought capping the flop and checking the turn seemed liek giving up too early - but would the fear of a checkraise buy me a showdown with just one bet on a harmless river, with two chances to hit a jack?

Any thoughts? Was capping the flop the big mistake? Or was the big mistake the follow-through afterwards, basically knowing he had a hand he wouldn't fold, which was likely better than mine?
