Re: What\'s with the chaos in NO?
[ QUOTE ]
Yes I am suggesting that Americans are more prone to being violent You mean as opposed to the european soccer hooligans who beat a police officer to death in Marseilles during the '98 World Cup? [/ QUOTE ] Intersting point, the English are probably more violent in watching sports Do you have a prediction as to the amount of looting that would occour in England after a Hurricane? By itself, your example is one murder |

Re: What\'s with the chaos in NO?
I personally doubt that people would act like this in the UK, I admit I am biased though, my guess is guns don't help when people are scared and the police are basically unable to protect them. Someone said the Army needs to come in fast, I agree.

Re: What\'s with the chaos in NO?

it's about Americans in general [/ QUOTE ] There's your problem. Making generalities regarding 300 million people based on the idiocy of a few hundred is futile. If the hurricane hit a different AMERICAN city, the resulting violence wouldn't be the same as N.O., so you don't need a non-American city to set an example. I don't ever recall riots breaking out when a tornado hits small town Iowa, or an earthquake in S.F., etc., etc. |

Do you have a prediction as to the amount of looting that would occour in England after a Hurricane? [/ QUOTE ] Do you have a prediction of how much looting woulkd occur if it hit Des Moines, Colorado Springs, San Francisco, Poertland, etc.etc. Don't use the zoo that is New Orleans as the "representative" American city. |

It's the murder capital of the United States. Per capita you will have more [censored] starters in New Orleans than anywhere else.

Re: What\'s with the chaos in NO?
You need to reason out what you are proposing. NO, is in a literal state of hell. The temp with humidity factored in is peaking at 120 degrees. People have no water, little food, and no place, in many cases, to lay their head. There are dead bodies strewn all about, people are missing loved ones and many people know their own death is imminent. Human nature under these conditions is dark and it is dark anywhere you go in the world. To say that it would be different in Europe is bigoted. Human nature at it's core is the same everywhere.
