Default When do I go to take a leak?

I usually play in a 4-8 game where the blinds are 4-2. In general I will play my blinds, button and CO then go and come back a few hands before the blinds get to me, sometimes I will leave right before my blinds and post after with $2 dead money. I think both can be justified, but wonder which most people think is the better play....
Does it make a difference if i am at a 2-4 table
Does it make a difference if I take a leak once an hour?

after you play the cutoff hand, look at the next hand. If you're not going to play it just slide it a little in front of you and go.

I think that's optimal leak taking strategy.

Skip the blinds and post behind the button, especially if the game is passive.

I'd like to hear the logic behind this. I think you're right, but I still want to hear it.

I think it's a big leak in my game. sorry, couldn't help it.

I would think skipping the blinds and posting behind would be a better choice in an aggressive game where people will try to raise both my blinds, in a passive game usually you can get in for $2 from the SB and check to get in for the BB.

Just take an entire orbit off. After you hit the head, take a little extra time to take a walk around and/or step outside to get some fresh air. It will help you to keep your sanity, and when you return you will feel refreshed and will play better. The game will still be there when you get back, so don't worry about taking more than a 2 minute break.

Posting after with dead money seems like a losing proposition to me: your missed 3 hand plus the dead money, I think, overshadows the advantage you have in posting your BB in late position.

I prefer to wait until I'm in middle position, figuring to miss 2 early position hands since they have small EV potential. This seems MUCh better than missing your late/middle hand since they have reasonable EV potential.

You may also want to miss an entire round, figuring to make the P-break part of a longer clear-the-mind break.

Ok, I understand that taking an entire orbit off costs me nothing thats easy. my question is of playing both blinds, or posting after which is the best choice

I take my break when the blinds are a couple of hands away from me, and I get a hand to fold. It usually doesn't take more than a couple of minutes, and remember to wash your hands.

If you have taken a beat recently, and might be a little tilty, you can also take an entire lap off, wander around the room and visit with friends, and get your balance back.

Good Luck,
Play Well,

Bob T.

not playing an orbit costs you hourly rate, that is if you can make more than $0 in an orbit where you have paid the blinds and missed 2-3.
