does empire send observed hands?

i was watching 4 games at a time at partypoker just to collect data on the players there. then, because empire is basically the same site, i decided view 4 more rooms there. however, no hand histories were collected from empire until i actually sat at a table. or at least that's what it seemed like. is this just how empire works?

you have to have made a cash deposit at the site first.

No, Empire works identically to Party.

Make sure you are importing the empire observed hands from the proper directory, usually c:\program files\empirepoker
