Default making almost as much in rakeback as I do playing???

Are my calculations ok?

After 10k hands at 1$/2$, my BB/100 is 1.3, nothing great, but I'm trying to improve.

I finally got a rakeback deal. I've been told by my affiliate that they way it's calculated, they take the rake paid by every player, divide by the number of player at the table and then I get my percentage of that.

So far, I've played about 500 hands with rakeback for a total rake of about 300$. The average nb of player per table, according to PT is 8.11.

So, it means I get 300/8.11 * 0.25 (25% rakeback) = 9.25

Over 500 hands, that's 1.85$/100 hands so 0.93BB/100

So now, instead of being a 1.3BB/100 player, I'm now a 2.23BB/100 player.

Is that the right way to calculate? If so, wow, I wish I'd gotten this deal a 60k hands before

Looks about right. Your PT numbers will give you
a close figure, RB is actual hand by hand.

The party rake is sick. Especialy at 1/2. I think I paid like 3BB/100 in rake and it made me want to cry. I did not have RB the entire way either

Consider yourself fortunate, realizing this when you are still at 1/2. I was a 8 tabling 3/6 and 4 tabling 5/10 short before I realized it.

this calculation shocked me! my pockertracker says that i pay pretty much rake too: more than 2 BB/100. i think i need rakeback too and then move up limits asap.

unless you are hell bent on playing at only one poker site the entire time, what you need at $1/2 limits is bonuses, not rakeback.

rakeback is worth about 1BB/100 regardless of what limits you play, but bonuses at $1/2 are generally worth as much as 5-10BB/100.

rakeback vs. bonuses start to break even around the $5/10 level, or earlier if you play enough hands per month to exhaust all signup and reload opportunities.

at lower limits you should be getting between 100-400% of your total PT paid rake rebated to you via bonus whoring.

To this I say Absolute - essentially unlimited bonus that doesn't effect your rakeback.

Might as well get both, though :-)

Anyone willing to walk me through the process of getting a rakeback? PM me if so, or post it here. I don't want to clutter up the forum and I could use the help!
