I'm not sure you are down so much in BB only because of bad blind defence. You get to play hands in the big blind that you don't play in other positions. You are out of position as well. It could be that you play bad oop with medium strenght hands, i.e. you call down too much, fold too much, don't bluff enough or whatever.
Look through your BB hands and post some questionable hands.

I would seriously consider playing a few thousand hands of 6-max. That should loosen you up if you learn to play it correctly.
