i tend to feel more comfortable around white people.

[/ QUOTE ]

so a simple "upper middle class" neighborhood wouldn't cut it if there are too many minorities around?

well, at least you're honest about it. i'm sure i have white neighbors who are sick to their stomachs that someone like me can afford to live in the luxury apartment next door to them.

[/ QUOTE ]

nothing wrong with being honest.

somehow if someone says they want to live around white people it's wrong, but if they say they only date red heads it's ok.

[/ QUOTE ]

Red heads arent a race you tard.

how does it matter? just call me a hairist

Your real problem was that you moved to Greenspoint

[/ QUOTE ]

It was amazingly close to my office and was in a rather convenient location. Yes, i should have done a little more due dilligence. It actually worked out okay though.

You will have a tough time getting all the variables you desire in one place.

You can get everything you want, except the 10 minutes to the strip part, in any of the following areas:

Green Valley
Coronado Ranch
Silverado Ranch
Summerlin

These areas are about a 20 minute drive to the strip. Summerlin is in the Northwest. The other areas are in the Henderson/Southwest area.

The longer you are here, the more you will appreciate being away from the strip.

This argument in defense of racism always gets me.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well i was defending racism. I'm am to some degree a racist. I believe that 99.5 percent of all people are racist to some degree (that includes blacks and other minorities). I'm honest about it.

If i'm in a cafeteria with 2 tables, one filled with black people and the other filled with white people (and no other information) i will sit at the one with the white people (and not at a table randomly).

Thanks....These are just the sort of insights i am looking for. My desire to be near the strip has mainly to do with the convenience of playinig poker. I definitely would like the convenience of playing multiple short sessions in any given day without the hassle of spending much time driving back and forth from home. That said, the other stuff is probably just as important so i have some thinking to do.

There are some nice places near the strip, but above your designated price range.

The apartments in your price range are near UNLV and/or in poor neighborhoods.

Driving to the stip is a little bit of a pain on weekend nights, but not really that big of a deal.

If you are in the Henderson/Southwest there are some really soft lower-limit games ($4/8 & $6/12 limit and $2/5 NL) at Sunset Station and Green Valley Ranch. You will have to either play online or go to the strip to get a bigger game.

That's not the way it works. Going to the strip is a time commitment, it isn't like going to the mall. There is a LOT of traffic throughout the day, and going anywhere on the Strip in a vehicle is a pain. The casinos themselves are labyrinthine, and take a good 10-15 minutes to navigate. The Strip was built for tourists not locals and there is a good reason we tend to stay away from it. It is anything but "convenience".

You don't need to worry about walking around at night, it's really not that dangerous in Vegas.
