Default So right now im up 188 BB in 2 hrs and thinking...

Doing this @ one table and even made one bad play.

Maybe I should multi-table and make this a job.

Up till now Ive basically just been playing to get better and just enjoy myself.

I really dont want to stop enjoying poker. Bc its my top hobby right now, and I sincerly like playing and learning.

For those who Multitable as a "job":

1) Do you find it overly stressful?

2) Has it lessened your appreciation for the game of poker?

3) Do you have any tips for aspiring err well....semi-pros?

4) Any general tips?

5) How many hours do you typically put in a week?

Are you asking here in order to get opinions from players at the same bankroll and limit level? Otherwise, there are some really good threads on this in the Zoo, in terms of details of someone's quest to play for a job, their stats, even their own blogs about it. I wish I could provide some links, but I didn't make them favorites as it is just not a goal of mine (I'm happy with the lawyer thing). Perhaps a search there or a crosspost would net you some better responses, especially if you asked specifically for NL and even SSNL help. Just a few thoughts, and best wishes and be patient if it is a move you make.

I don't do it professionally... but I almost always play 3-4 tables. In the 5 weeks or so that I've had pokertracker, I believe I've consistantly averaged between 15-20 BB/100.

With that being said... I don't find it stressful at all. Matter of fact, I enjoy it more. You get to play more. There are nights where I'm card dead. Where I've gone for an hour barely playing 10% of hands dealt. If I was at one table, I'd die of boredom or have to start playing like a maniac.

I suspect, based on your postings here, that you would have no problem adding another table or two.

Whether or not you should make a living out of it... I can't answer that. Though 188BB's at small stakes probably isn't a comfortable living.

I dont mean as a career. I mean more like as a 20hr a week thing, and maybe in the summer.

Oh....right. I'm a fool.

As far as adding more tables, I definitely suggest it, for all the basic reasons ($/hr, lower variance, more hands played, less boredom, it's fun, etc.). I think throw one more table in and see how you feel about it, and move up from there.

Just be aware of the debilitating effect multi-tabling can have on the growth of your game.

That's quite an extrapolation to go from multitabling NL25 to making it a career. Now if you were multitabling NL200 or so then you have a point.

Also, what are your PTBB/100 stats for your NL25 games? Like 30? 40?

i have two 19" samsung synchmaster monitors. they were $400 each after rebate. my only complaint is that the max res is 1280x1024...still good enough to 4-table on each without much overlap.
