Default Re: Got caught in a Lie. Need OOT\'s Help.

I remember when I was a little kid and the rabbi called our house to ask how my older brother was feeling--since my brother hadn't been to afterschool Bar Mitzvah preparation class in months and his Bar Mitzvah was coming up in two weeks.

I just remember a lot of yelling, during which time I was able to piece together that my brother had been playing hooky and hanging out at local fast food joints during the time he was supposed to be at class, after which he would take the public bus home as if he had gone to class.

So I guess the situation is kind of similar--aside from the fact that my brother was only twelve.

Basically I don't know really why I lied.

I really didn't want to let her down

just be honest. i think a hurtful truth is better than a hurtful lie. tell her you will figure out some way to show her that actually are going to class instead of the local casino or wherever you are sneaking off too by having the prof contact her or have some sort of attendance slip. seems like grade school stuff but if it will help regain the trust, then its worth of doing. the downside is it's childish. the upside is it's cheaper than flowers, jewelry, and an expensive dinner.

If you felt you needed to lie about skipping a class it will only get worse and you don't love her. Have her take you out to dinner then have a last romp then steal all her silverware and leave.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is exactly what I would do.

Why would that piss him off? The only girl I know that says this gives me a little rise every time I hear it.

Also, in what context are you using it?

[/ QUOTE ]

He doesnt like it (a) because I misquote it....I say "aaah stick it in yer pooper" and (b) because after hearing it for the first time, I used the phrase about 200 times and managed to apply it to anything anyone said
