if he had pushed you in before you acted.


I'd probably call and stand. I'd take his push as weakness--a hand that didn't want callers from up front, but perhaps with some kind of playability.

Something else to think about in these tournament scenarios is UTG+2's EV for knocking you out. If it's the late stages and there are eight players left, I assume a large tournament.

His call cost him 4 BB's. If he wins, there's an 11.5 BB pot (4:7.5; almost 1:2), plus whatever he gains from having you depart. If he stands on a random un-paired hand, and if he can get you to draw, he's 1:3 that you'll pair. If getting you out is worth at least 8.5 BB's, he's got nothing to lose by rapping pat with it.
