Default Could I have played this any worse? KK hand.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG+1 posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG folds, UTG+1 (poster) checks, UTG+2 calls, MP1 raises, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Hero 3-bets, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 caps, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (25.50 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)
UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 bets, MP1 raises, MP2 3-bets, MP3 folds, Hero folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 caps, MP2 calls, UTG+2 calls.

Turn: (18.75 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG+2 checks, MP1 bets, MP2 raises, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls.

River: (24.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks.

Final Pot: 24.75 BB

When MP1 caps preflop, I think AA, and when it's a bet and a raise to me on the flop, I figure I'm boned in at least one spot.

i think the only way you could have played this worse is to fold pre-flop. So to answer your question, yes.

Easily cap the flop.

People cap preflop with other hands besides AA. You can't be afraid of it.

With a bet and raise to me on the turn, I may slow down, but still not fold to that pot.

The action on the river tells me that they had QQ.

Well, you could have folded preflop.

I'd probably cap and see what happened on the turn. If you didn't slow anyone down, then you are up against AA or JJ, but you'd think they'd wait till the turn to raise everyone.

All depends how the table is playing. If it was quiet for the last 50 hands, I'd probably fold too. I'm not all that upset about losing KK though. Especially with that board that was doubtful to help anyone.

Well, I think a hand can always be played worse, potentially.

But more to your concern, here is why you should not have folded:
1) The pot is already very large
2) No flush or straight is possible yet, indeed no reasonable straight or flush draws are even likely. There is no Ace, and no pair on the board. (Even if there were I would not fold here.) You are behind to 2 pair, a set, or AA. It is possible you are behind certainly. But this possibility compared to the size of the pot warrents at least a call, and probably a raise.
3) The pot is very large.

You will loose here sometimes, and this takes a psychological toll. It can make you shell shocked and play weak tight. In the long run though, staying aggressive and hanging in there will be worth it.

agreed, raise as much PF and flop as you can.

turn can slow down if you genuinely believe AA is out there, but you could be seeing shadows.

I think the flop muck is a bit too scared. i see why you did it, but i don't approve.

Pete Harris

The flop isnt too scary, rainbow and no real straight draws just yet, you can only fear 2 hands. I would've probably capped it and see what happens on the turn. Some people will cap with something like AJ, you never know.

I punched myself in the face on the showdown;

UTG+2 shows Jh 7d (one pair, jacks).
MP1 shows Qs Qd (one pair, queens).
MP2 shows Ad 6c (one pair, sixes).

Lesson learned.

Thanks for your advice, everyone.
