why are there ppl 8 tabling 2/4 on party

who are these ppl? why don't you just move up it really annoys me when at every table I try to sit at you're there. move up you shiit..it's like marla coming to all my self help sessions

Personally, I'm two-tabling the $400 6max NLHE tables. You guys have fun though.

My guess is that they rely solely on pokertracker numbers for reads. These can actually be quite helpful, particularly in preflop decisions, in LHE.

The overall goal is of course to maximize hourly earn, and eight-tabling generally achieves this. Although they would probably make more money if they did move up, but it would be much harder and there would be a lot more variance due to their decreased edge. There are plenty of reasons to eight table 2/4 instead of move up, there are also reasons to move up.

From my own experience, 4-6 tabling Party tables on 2/4 brings in a higher winrate then the 7-10 tables, yet the more tables generate more profit due to the sheer number of hands played. I dont have the ablility to do multiple stuff other then the 8 +tables I find it is more profitable then focusing on 4-6 tables.

The great thing about 2-4 is half the ppl suck and will call you down with anything, and half the ppl think they are johnny chan and try to bluff raise you, so I just call down with my decent hands and pick off bluffs.

When I say I space out, I do. I just get in a zone. I have reads. Even 8 tabling you see when ppl are doing stupid stuff. Once you play for like 2-3 weeks at the same time of the day, you get like 2000 hands on some regulars, and then notes on regulars. So I have decent reads on the other grinders.

I'm just about done with 2-4 I think. I've been clearing the euro/Pokerroom bonus at 5-10, with good results. I am massively overbankrolled for 2-4 at this point, something like 4000BB [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I was going to make the move to 3-6 5-10 last month, but I bought a house, so the DP and other expenses cut into the BR. In addition to being massively overbankrolled, I have huge risk aversion. I don't want to play 5-10 on a 1000BB BR. I am about 80% certain right now that I could beat that game for at least 1+BB/100. I'm just not in a position to be wrong and lose my BR. I cannot replace it. So I grinded it out this month, and I think I'm moving up.

All that being said, reads are still important fo 2/4, but the players aren't that good, that default plays still work pretty well.
