i've heard that you should never be the 2nd to limp from the CO or Button...
so with that in mind.. (should that be in mind?) i like the pf

i like the rest up until the turn bet, i'd be more inclined to check/call here...

I fold this preflop. I don't understand the raise.

If the table is running really passive as was described by the OP, then I'd start raising with any A in the CO or Button, plus a lot of other marginal hands, even with one limper. I'd rather play a marginal hand at this table with position than wait for some monster that won't get paid off by the passive tighties.

I'd also probably change tables.

I like the raise PF from that position. It's something I'm just starting to incorporate into my game, if I feel the table is being too passive. I definitely don't limp...raise or fold in that spot.

I like the play on all streets...makes you wonder what your opponents were holding?

i like the preflop raise with the suited ace when first or second in at a passive table. BUT only if there are lots of calling stations at the table. That hand wants multiway action, so raising at a tight table means if called you are probably behind.

Me neither so I think I'm missing a conceptual theory thing here for some reason. If anything I'm limping just to see if I hit the NFD. If you miss that, how good can you feel about an Ace with a 3 kicker? If you hit the 3 you have definite overcard trouble? So 2 pair, trips or flush draw are what you need, right?

With a middle kicker I could probably justify a pop here once in awhile.

Without the flush draw how might this hand be played?

I like the PF raise, I think I always make that play against one limper unless I have a read that he's tight. You will often thin the field and/or buy yourself the button.

Flop bet: Standard. You want to see where you are against a possible K, and w/ the nut flush draw you are happy if everyone calls. No raise means you're probably not against a K. The smooth calls disturb me a little whenever I'm betting A high, but your still drawing to a guaranteed winner.

Let's talk about the turn bet. The only possible hand it makes is a straight for the unlikely 7/9. However, with two callers on the flop I think you've got to be up against either a pair or a better A high. Why not just check/call here?

River: Standard. Folding to a raise? I think I would call, but only because the pot is large.

PRF raise seems fine on a super passive table from CO. try to buy the button and don't let the blinds in playing anything that could get lucky and try to get HU with someone limping in with weaker hand.

Flop bet: standard

Turn bet: read dependent. if you have passives that'll continue even when hitting top pair, i'd check.

River: strange they folded to an A. maybe they were on the flush draw too?

Question to all: if river comes up a blank, non-club, say...4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], would you bet? i think i would.

I would limp preflop, bet the flop, check the turn and bet the river. I don't understand the turn bet. Against 3 opponents, you aren't going to pick up the pot and you aren't betting for value. I see this turn bet with drawing hands a lot and I don't understand it. Is this a problem in my game?
