While I'm not particularly in favor of teaching Creationism, this quote struck me as interesting:

Doesn't excluding Creationism from being taught amount to limiting peoples' choices? Both Creationism and Evolution are theories. Do we believe that the theory of evolution is being taught in schools as though it is a theory or that it is a law? Perhaps as a compromise, we can put more emphasis on the fact that evolution is a theory and that there are other theories that exist as to how the universe was created. That way, if you're a Christian, you don't have to unteach your children.

Just because creationism and evolution are both "theories" does not mean that they have equal validity. Why don't we also teach the theory that the earth is flat, which apparently some people still believe: link

More reading trouble. I didn't say we had to teach Creationism. I just offered the option of emphasizing that the theory of evolution is just that. A theory. It isn't a proven fact. It isn't a law. We don't have to teach every theory out there. Just make sure kids learning about evolution realize that this isn't necessarily the way the world works. Comprende?

Fine, then, if you do this, then in the name of good science, one must point out that these other theories have no scientific relevance whatsoever.
