David,

First off, are you from a Jewish background?

I think that this would be cool. But then again I'm Jewish, so I have a biased opinion. And I don't think I can answer the specific question for that reason.

[ QUOTE ]
When someone dies (Christian or non-Christian), they will realize how silly their beliefs were.

[/ QUOTE ]

No they wont. They'll just be dead. They wont be haunting houses, checking through security at a giant gate in the sky or burning in a pit of flaming lava. They'll just be wormfood.

Yes. Exactly...and this is David's n-level sense of humor, at play.

What are we missing?

Solved: Why David posts incendiary religion (subjective) questions in the Psych forum.

Um, okay. Whatever.

EDIT: Is it David's sense of humor that causes him to stop posting in threads once I point out his illogic?

Lude, I don't think you need to do so much work to spoil someone's party. Just tell them to read some Egyptian mythology, particularly the story of Horus born from the virgin Isis... for a start.

Also, you won't get very far posting links to a site called "infidelguy" and "jesusneverexisted." Too easy to presume bias and take the site with a grain of salt.

Simply point to the primary sources and be done with it.

The whole concept of who is right and who is wrong never ceases to boggle my mind. Why would God choose just one messenger to spread his word amongst the wonderful variety of people he created? When you take out the human screwing around with interpretation and cultural differences, practically every religion in the world boils down to one thing, treat others the way you want to be treated and know that there is something greater then you in the universe.

I think God chooses different religions to speak to the different people he created. There is no one right, there is no wrong. It is your heart which is weighed and measured when the day of atonement arrives.

Now...we can argue all day long about how religious teachings are interpreted by mankind and come up with about 1000 ways each one is wrong and I am not going to defend one religion over another but I have read and studied the bible, I have read and studied the koran, moderately knowledgable on Eastern teachings and am woefully unprepared to discuss anything at all about wicca, druidism, cargo cults or any other variety of beliefs that are out there. But I do know that God loves ALL of his creations and I believe he speaks to them the best way they can understand. Just my 2 cents.

I prefer to think of it as "pissing on their happy."

Who else is going to point out these things? The Pope?

I often point people to primary sources, but rarely do they actually read them. They *might* read the Cliff's Notes version if I stick it right under their noses, like I just did. Plus, regardless of what the names of the websites are, the facts still remain. They can independently research it themselves, though I doubt anyone will. Faith is like that.

Back to the original question:

I have to put none of the above for the following reason:

If I could find the verfiable truth, then I would be set free. Even if it was the tree god.
