Re: A Question For Christians
If 10 to 100 years after the fact by those who either knew him or were disciples of those who did aren't good enough then no I can't. And I'm not going to start a long train of posts on who really wrote the gospels, gnostic gospels, etc since my post has to do with the life and sayings of Jesus as portrayed in the gospels.

[/ QUOTE ] That's fine. It just seems like a very biased group of texts. Strange that nothing else from that period would make even the slightlest reference, but since your post isn't concerned with that, I won't be concerned with that. |

Re: A Question For Christians
If I had once belonged to a different religion and then realized Judaism is the "true" religion, then I would have been proud.
But since I was born a Jew, Judaism being the religion that was handed to me, I would feel that I was lucky enough to have the privilege of being given the opportunity for living life with the correct road-map. Hope that makes any sense... |

Re: A Question For Christians
Many Christians might answer E simply because they believe that their God requires them to do so.

Re: A Question For Christians
I stay out of most of these religion posts but I must say, I gave up on Christianity (the only dogma I was ever taught) when it finally sunk in that they were teaching me that every jew, hindu and muslim was going to burn in hell for all eternity while the christians were going to heaven. That you MUST believe in christ and be baptised before you could go to heaven. Heaven must be pretty damn empty.

I am not trying to be a smart alec [/ QUOTE ] I disagree. That's exactly what you're trying to do. When someone dies (Christian or non-Christian), they will realize how silly their beliefs were. |

Additional Question...
[ QUOTE ]
How upsetting would it be to you if it was somehow shown that the Jewish religion was the true one? [/ QUOTE ] Say this was true... Would you start following [ QUOTE ] the Jewish religion [/ QUOTE ] ? Bling. |

Re: A Question For Christians
Dave, man, you should have made a poll!
I'm not sure about whether or not God exists, or if he exists as Christians believe he does, but I'd be pretty bitter about the revelation, because I really connect with Lewis / Plato / Jesus, and I really dislike the God in Genesis. If I found out that there were no God, I'd be disappointed, but still content. If I found out that Genesis God was The Guy, I'd feel even worse. So, B. --Dave. |

I hereby nominate FrankieFish for godhood!
