Default Re: Playing aggressively versus scare cards

It's possible that they do think I'm loose aggressive. As you can see this hand was dealt 6 handed, and just before this I had been playing 4 way. Maybe I should have included that info in original post.

I was also surprised to be called by two players with tens, especially the first one that called.

Bart, what do you think your opponents think of you? Do they think you’re somewhat loose-aggressive? Because it’s kinda surprising you got called by two dead tens…

This is what I was thinking.

What I meant by this is it's not usual that I would be called by those doorcards.

Default RESULTS and my reasoning

3rd is an easy obvious raise.

On 4th I want to get the 3rd player out, and while the bettor has caught a scare card his diamonds and tens are already pretty dead.

On 5th it would be hard to put him on 2 pair. Aces seem possible, but there are some questions: why would he call with a dead ten showing and an ace down? why bet out but not 3-bet on 4th, AND not try for checkraise on 5th?

On 6th, I've seen 8 diamonds, but my opponent only knows that I've seen 6. Given the strength I've shown, wouldn't he at least think about checkraising here if he actually had the flush? I still think he's just trying to get me to laydown (I think this happens a lot more at the 20 game than the lower games). And of course I can take the free showdown...

7th: Oops, forgot the free showdown.

Luckily he just called, but unluckily he had made aces up on the river. From the e-mailed hand history: [ Ts 4d Td Ad 4s 5d Ah ] He later confirmed that he caught the ace on the river, for those of you who don't trust the hand histories. He even complimented me on my read, was he blowing smoke up my [censored]?

I said I thought he had aces up earlier. Now that I think about it, I think aces up probably 3 bets 4th. Not sure why on earth he called your raise on 3rd. I guess he just didn't want you bullying.

Either way, well played. Your opponent had a trillion outs against you.

No. I think he was genuinely impressed. At least I am. Well played.
