Default bet this river ? How did I win this ?

No read on MP2 yet. I'm tilting a little from some stupid beats. I decide I'm going to bet out till the 4th spade hits, and in the meanwhile represent one. I think back now and consider checking the river. But do I check/fold ? What does he put me on to make that call ? l-a-m-e

Stop tilting, and check/fold the river, he loves his pockets too much, and he'll check through AK.

What hands can you expect a call from that you beat? What hands can you expect a call or raise from that beat you? If the latter group comprises more hands than the former, you are probably best off checking. (Unless you are even less of a favourite when check/calling, and folding is even worse.)

I think a check/call is in order on this board. If you give up this is a pretty bluffable board for villain, and you have the nut no-pair. The group of hands that villain bets that you beat when you check is larger than the group of hands that he calls with that you beat when you bet. Since I think you will win this hand at least 1 in 7 times when check/calling, a call is in order ahead of a fold on the river.

Like I mentioned, I won the hand. he didn't have pocket anything.

Given the range of hands he could be raising with, I guess he was on these (and the suited variety): AQ, AJ, KQ, KJ, etc...

I agree on the check and call. I was hoping to make him fold a small pocket pair, and also I figured he had a high spade. I guess the high spade is the answer.

C/folding HU would be bad here.
