Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls t20, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP2 calls t20, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t85</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG calls t65, MP2 calls t65.

2 checks to you. No good reads; it still pretty early in the tournament. Neither of these players seems to be an uber-lag.

Pt. 1: Your play?

Pt. 2: If you bet 175, UTG folds and MP2 raises to 500. What next?

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">

I raised all-in. MP2 calls and I suck out.

Turn: (t3975) 2 of spades
River: (t3975) Q of diamonds

MP2 has 9h 8h (two pair, nines and eights).

I play it the same way, but then again I'm a little looser than many of the regulars here.

I like splashing the pot to build some action with the flush draw. If i make my flush on the turn, I may not get takers later on. If I don't, my flop raise may give me a free river card.

I think MP2 with his 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] played this very wrong. He should have folded to your PF raise out of position. And he should have led out on the flop with two to the flush. (I think he was reading you for high PP and hopping to trap with his 2 pair.)

Its hard to say but I made the same move last month holding a open ended straight draw and 4 to the flush. I got AKs to fold his hand(so he says) and he would have taken my money had he stayed.BBcalled with top pair and I hit the flush. If AKs would have taken the free card I would not have pushed because not enough in the pot to justify it. Don't know if that helps but i try not to put money in the pot unless semi bluffing with the intent to take it all the way, or I got the goods!
