The reason is that exit polls make no sense to begin with, as they do not use a statisically significant sample size.

Additionally, I always ignore people on the way in and out of the polls, as I consider my vote to be none of their damn business, and this belief is not completely independent of my political beliefs.

Exit polls just describe a minute fraction of the subset of people who actually are willing to answer an exit poll.
