Default Calling AI in the BB, in the final table.

6 people left, 1st place is a WPT package (Foxwoods). 2nd $3896. 3rd $2337. 4th $1558.

Blinds 1k-2k, 100 ante.

You have about 15k left after posting the BB. 3 other stacks in the table have between 15 and 20k; and there are 2 big stacks. Folded to the button who goes all in for about 16k. You have A6s, call or fold?

call

edit:

well depends on what the buttons been doing.. if you've watched him fold the button 3 times in a row, i think i'm folding this.. but if he's trying for it each time or most of the time.. call

I'm going to differ and say fold
I'm willing to admit that you may have a small edge here. I think your about 50%-55% or better against his range but we must remember the payout structure.
Personally, i'm more likely to fold and be the agressor and put other people to the test. You don't have a whole lot of chips, but you have good folding equity still and can hope to remain alive to place in the money
(Note: this analysis is irrelivent if you are playing for just the seat, in that case it is definately a call- i'm assuming that you are trying to pick the option that will be the most $EV.

Very good post, and tough decision. It's a Sat, and you are tied with three other stacks and only top 4 pay money. Sklansky would love to analyze this one.

Your M is 4.1 and your effective M is 2.5. Things are getting desperate but I think I would fold here b/c I hate being the caller in this situation and you have no fold equity.

I would rather wait for the next good opportunity to do the same with the Harringtonesque "first-in vigorish". IF he has an Ace you are probably dominated and if he has a pair you are behind. Wait for a better spot. Tho not too long.

My main decision to fold is based on the fact that there is no money for 6th or 5th and such a big difference for 4th.

Any reads on the button?

If you have the slightest notion of him being an action player, then instacall.

I am also very much more willing to call if the big stacks are on your immediate left.

Dare I say it...could a stop and go work here? I never do it (not my style) but it looks like a good situation to pull one off.

I suspect the math will show this is a fold. You should be winning this hand less than 50% against the range of most typical opponents.

Against the following reasonable range you are about 48%:

22+,A2+,K8o+,K4s+,QTo+,Q9s+,JTs

This edge is just way too small for me to accept, and I also think it's more likely that your opponent will be tighter than the above, than looser.
