Default Pocket Deuces...choices?

$20+R+A at Poker Room. 44 players left, payed 90 and next pay increase is at 40th.

The SB has been playing very few hands and playing those aggressively and took a couple of beatings in last orbit to go from t63,000 (near tourny lead)to his current t32,000. Does this fact affect my decision here? BB is new.

I am on the button. I'm not sure how to gauge my image as I had just taken a couple beatings myself when I took on a couple short stack All-Ins with A9s in BB when SB only called w/ AA PF, and my 55 steal on the button lost to short stack KK in the BB. I had gone from t38,000 to t17,000 in last 2-3 orbits.

Can I fold this with less than 6BB left? Calling is out of the question, right?

Seat 1: d0ct0r ($36,925 in chips)

My opinion:

I'd either raise 3-4xBB or fold. They may have a chance to play back at you if you raise - but really with 22 if they reraise at best you are a coinflip and you can fold without any other loss.

Folding might be the right choice in this situation because of your table image. Even though there was nothing wrong with the plays they saw earlier, they may feel you're tilting slightly. Although if the BB is new and didn't see these and the SB is tight regardless.. this negates itself.

Raising half or more of your stack and folding to a reraise is horrible no matter what you have. 22 with 6BB's on the button--I would push this everytime.

its shocking how some people don't understand simple +ev moves, how in gods name can you fold this, lets assume the following:

The small and big blind will call with any pair (probably not true) or high unpaired cards like AK AQ etc.

To make matters simple (less maths) lets assume any unpaired hand you're called with is 50/50 so any call from an unpaired hand is marginally +Cev right?

ok i mean normally they'd fold 33 44 55 66 but lets assume both are really loose and call with 33 +

Well they have a paired hand like 1/16 times so you'll be called 1/9 times (no 22 will call) so when you get folded you get +4500 when you get called you're 20% chance to win 37k so its -9500. So 8/9 times +4500 1/9 times - 9500.

Easy push, really simple maths here but thats what i'd work out from that position. You're looking for a coinflip to double up with that stack or blind stealing. you have little fold equity after another orbit.

As mentioned, easy push.. I'd actually have pushed with almost anything here.. any Ace, King, Queen, 2 high cards, 2 mid cards, Pair, connector, anything

Pushing any two is for losers who place no value on the time they have invested in a tournament.

You know you are going to be called. You know that anyone who calls you is going to have at worst two over cards.

Fold. You may not get something better. But, then again, you might.
