Default Only played 2/5 NL before....Vegas -> play 1/2 or 2/5?

My state (washington) only offers a 2/5 (100-200) game so that's the only I've played. I'm going to Vegas for the first time on Sunday and I'm not sure which game to play.

I'd prefer a more casual (read: soft) game but I don't mind the stake (2/5) so long as it's not too tough of a game. Add to that I've got a friend going with me who has NO live NL experience.

I haven't really seen this question asked before so I figured I'd throw it out there.

Edit: (Forgot to say, I'm only taking about $1000 so I'm thinking I should stick to the 1/2 since it is usually the same buy in as the game I'm used to, but If i run good the first few days...)

Well the 2/5NL games can be very fishy and much looser than your run of the mill 1/2 NL game. But 1k could be gone in 2 bad beats as well. It all depends on if you're willing to get in there and gamble (2/5) or play tight and wait for the nuts (1/2) like everyone else does.

If you can play 2/5 with such a short stack buy in, I'm sure you could play it in vegas with a bigger buy in.

I enjoy the Bellagio 2-5 200max game. Similiar to yours.

ditto with the above on the Bellagio's $2/5 ($200 max) game. Other good NL games include $1/2s at the Excalibur ($200 cap), the Wynn (no cap and it's now a $1/3 game; they also have $2/5), the Flamingo, Bally's and the Sahara. It won't be hard to find a NL game because of its popularity.

You should play in the Alladin's 1/2 NL game and it isn't even close.
You'll be bankrolled fine for it and your friend won't feel so bad when he sees how bad those players are.

EDIT: btw - I occasionally play in the Tulalip game and the Alladin will be a lot softer. If you are feeling adventurous, then try the MGM $500 2/5 game. The waters can be sharky, but I've had some friends to OK there.

Don't waste your time with the Bellagio 2/5 game, play 3/5 @ the mirage or the 2/5 @ the MGM.

There is a juicy 1/2NL game after the tourney bust outs @ the sahara weeknight tourneys as well, but stay away from 200 or less as far as buy ins.

Games run much looser and 200 is not much to play around with.
