Help me out, I don't understand the rational on your suggested line of raising preflop.

Assumption is that villain is not raising light given his stats.

Board hits us or hits him, and if it hits us yahtzee, if not, we get away from it?

how about a check raise on the flop to try to get a free card and maybe even take the hand down right there?

[/ QUOTE ]

Checkraising for a free card is a really difficult, since you're first to act on the turn.

Checkraising to "take it down" is also bad, because the only times he folds, is when you would want him not to.

I like a checkraise on the flop to see where I'm at. If I get 3-bet I'm fairly sure I'm beat and I can check/fold the turn UI without much thought. Since you didn't I play the hand the same way.

I like the play but how bad is a flop bet in this spot given the Villains numbers?

I think you played it as well as you could, given that you were out of position. If you had position on him, a flop or turn raise might work both as a semi-bluff and to buy a free card/showdown.

I think its a toss up between check/fold or check/call on the river. I lean towards a check/fold given villain's preflop numbers. If villain were in the CO or on the button, perhaps check/call.

The more I read it, The more I think the line is fine.

preflop, I am not raising anywhere.

Flop, a SB back to me for Middle pair and a couple of backdoors, OK

Turn, I pick up even more outs. With the villain this tight. He has a premium hand. I think I need to hit something to win. I don't want to be raised, so I don't bet. Happy to call.

River, check check is fine. I don't call a bet here tho'
