Default Gazes steamrolled Forrest last night

He seemed to be totally in control and started out with a huge chip lead heads up 3.5 to 1 I think and she just rolled over him in nothing flat, 20 minutes tops. He just looked confused and unsure once it got to headsup. Really strange play on his part including "soft playing" Clonie repeatedly, Lederer mentioned it a bunch of times, the 2 of them checking down pot after pot.

Almost like someone paid him to throw the game to a female or something. He soft played both Clonie and Gazes.

I think he thought if he played them poorly he could get some booty.

I agree Gazes walked over him. Also I think him and clonie checked it down three times or more

Does nobody believe he was softplaying Clonie since he probably has never played against her before and was just getting a read/line on her play. He was in control, so he could afford to loose a bit of value for his hands to gain on future hands. Remember Forrest is known as an excellent reader.

As for Gazes, I think he got aggro too quickly, he could've
picked his spot better against an opponent who probably would've been fairly straightup (even as far as head to head play goes)

Edited: change "fairly" straightup, to "more" straightup when compared with a top NL Holdem pro....to say fairly straightup when I have not seen much of Gazes' play would be jumping to conclusions which is always dangerous

Not me. I could be wrong but I think they both play in big money 7 stud games.

It's too obvious if Forrest actually was softplaying Clonie. It was probably more Forrest having Gowen in position on him, and how he has to deal with her for many more future hands. Maybe he was trying to induce a bluff in bigger pots like the one where he called on the river w/ KK on a ATxTx board where the river was the 3rd heart. Any non-bluff and Forrest was beat.

Maybe you're thinking of Cyndi Violette. she's known as a very good stud player.
