Default Firing the second barrel early in tournaments?

There are two limpers and ou are one off the button. You open raise for 4xBB with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Button and both blinds fold, both limpers call. You don't know much about the players so you figure either A-10+ or pocket pairs. The flop comes Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and both check. How often do you bet out here EARLY in the tournament? I feel this is a leak in my game because I bet out trying to take the pot too often and get called by someone with Q-weak kicker just hoping to see showdown as cheap as possible

I'd usually bet 8-10xBB and if I get played around with, I'd just shut down.
