Default Me (13-11 +1.39 YTD) & the \"System\" (10-18-1 -2.19) Wk 3

Alright, were approaching d-day for this system. Format the same as last week.

Michigan @ Michigan State -5.5
Wish I wouldve gotten this at 3.5 when it opened, but I still think this is a profitable line. MSU has looked absolutely stellar on offense this year, while against decent teams, Michigan has struggled to put up points. MSU looks good to roll here.

Clemson -6.5 @ Wake Forest +101
This looks good to me as well. Clemson has looked good all season, despite two tough OT losses. Wake Forest has been abysmal and hasnt stopped anybody. Im looking for Clemson to smush the Deacs and get back on track.

Syracuse @ FSU -21 -107
I normally dont like to lay this many points, but with a mismatch like this I think its a pretty safe thing to do. Syracuse is only putting up 280 yds/game and FSU is a much better defense then the other teams theyve faced thus far. The Noles offense is starting to round into form and their defense is likely to score at least once, or at least put the FSU offense in great position to score. Blow out.

Temple +28.5 @ Bowling Green +103
I think this is another instance of looking at the scores of Temple's losses as opposed to their opponents in those losses. The Owls kept it close (and low) against a team closer to their level last week, and BG gave up 31 to Ball State a couple of weeks ago. Im not sure if Temple's better or worse then Ball State, but I think they stay comfortably within 4 touchdowns.

Middle Tennessee St @ Vanderbilt -14.5 +101
Ive never ever picked Vandy and laid more than 2 touchdowns... thats not saying much, since Vandys only been a 2 touchdown favorite a few times since World War II . Vandy has put up points against bad teams, and MTS fits the bill. MTS hasnt put up more than 7 a single time this year, and they havent had anywhere near a tough schedule (with the exception of the Crimson Tide, and that game was nasty bad for MTS). Here's to new things.

System picks:
Boise St @ Hawaii +10.5 -107
Baylor +22.5 @ Texas A&M -102
Navy @ Duke +6 -107
Kent @ Eastern Michigan -3.5 -107
UNLV @ Wyoming -18 -107
Rice +17.5 @ UAB -107
Buffalo @ Western Michigan -10.5 -103
Kansas +18.5 @ Texas Tech -107

Heres to hoping to get back on track.

Thanks for the post again TRW. Did your friend ever tell you how long the system has been calling games and/or at what clip?

Yeah. I think I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago (not sure... meant to). He let me see the betting log that this system produced over the last six years winning at a 56.7% clip. My luck, its actually a failure for a system getting very lucky and I jumped in just as the correction hammer came in . Im still looking for a turn around (actually Im more hoping then I am expecting... but whatcha gonna do ).

Here's to hoping for a sweep to almost get back to even .

I'll be doing the same thing I did last week -- throw the picks in a bunch of tiny parlays and small spread bets.

This is karma. I picked Vandy as a 2 touchdown favorite... so I deserved to go 1-4 and lose 3.1 units. No griping... I tempted the football gods' patience far too far with that one.

The system had a better week then I had. Depending on the outcome of the Hawaii game, it'll either go 5-3 or 4-4. Either way this'll be it's first .500 or better week. Maybe its turning around. Ill update the final and the totals in the morning.

Hope your picks did better than mine....... and remember: Vandy as a favorite = divine retribution.

The System pulled out a winning week after all.
Weekly recap:

Me:
Week: 1-4 -3.1
YTD: 14-16 -1.71

System:
Week: 5-3 +0.46
YTD: 15-21-1 -1.73

Heres to looking for a turnaround, for both me and this infernal system .

The 3 games the system lost last week did so by a total of 3 points. With its track record, I had a good feeling this thing would come around.
