Pokertropolis

it seems you already know this, but pokertropolis is bad news.

you will get your money, but do not ever play there again. it is absolutely evil. seriously.

Why is pokertropolis evil Granny?
I don't have any plans to play on it, but just curious.

From BW:

Pokertropolis
Pokertropolis is blacklisted because they use poker bots (computerized players run by the house) at their tables. Their management denies this, but anyone who plays there will realize that they are not playing against human opponents.

For what it's worth, the bots do not appear to have any unfair advantage over the players. However, the fact that they are used and then lied about is cause for rather large concern about Pokertropolis.

If you search the archives here you will find endless threads about this as well. It is the strangest place I have ever played. Everyone folds to button, button raises, as small blind you 3 bet, BB folds then raising button folds. This was one of the many oddities.

I'm not saying I know anything about this one way or another.

Jek I think said they were bots and I was responding to that rumor (that I wouldn't mind playing against bad playing bots).

I have played on pokerblue though (not knowing of their connection) and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary...I wasn't looking either though.

I'm about break-even on that site.

And they processed my cash-out in about 3-4 days or so (I cashed out a couple weeks ago) and they also responded very politlely and professionally regarding some input I gave on their software. (it runs kind of like absolute on my computer in that if I have multiple monitors then just 1 table there can be a tremdnous resource drain).

the betting pattern that PA is describing is when you have the best hand. if you have second best, or are making a move on the pot, they don't fold.

it is same setup as propoker
