That doesn't seem like all that harsh of a beat to me.

99 was always a possibility, but I don't see anything wrong with betting a flopped full house hard as hell. Sometimes you're just going to lose, that's all. But it seems to me that you still have to push a hand like that.

First month of playing professionally.

29,219 hands, down 234 BB.

Variance does suck.

[/ QUOTE ]

You might want to rethink your profession. That's getting to the point that it's not variance.

Yeah, thats nearly 3SD assuming he is a 2BB/100 winner.

Trust me, when I was going through this I doubted my ability to play. Upon further inspection, the mistakes I was making were relatively minor compared to how often I was getting unlucky.

The good news? In the past 13k hands, I'm up over 250 BB. [censored] happens, I'm still confident in my game.

Seriously all. All those variance (and even the bad beat) stories make me feel better.

-225 BB in 20k hands (as shown in my "Am I hopeless"? post).

I would've bet/called the river. That's happened to me before, too--it sucks.

-217BB in 3,100 hands (175 of those BB today in 2,260 hands). Take that!

[/ QUOTE ]
Running -217BB over 23k hands is much worse for a winning player.

[/ QUOTE ]

This was exactly what I was going to say.

I grabbed it all back the next day too... talk about one drastic millisecond in the lifetime of a poker player
