Default KK hand, Ace on the flop

I think this is pretty routine. Comments or suggestions?

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. MP2 posts a blind of $1.
UTG raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, 7 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.

River: (7.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 9.25 BB

Seems reasonable. Would you also call down (ignoring the river check in this instance) with QQ on an AJx or Axx flop?

I raise the flop to see what he has.

Do you want a worse hand to fold?

Or a better hand to 3-bet?

"I raise the flop to see what he has."

This never, ever works.

Calling down makes the most when you're ahead, and loses the least when you're behind, assuming you're going to showdown.

If you raise him, he might not even call with his jack. You want him to bet the jack the whole way..

Yeah, pretty much the same unless I have some knowledge about the villain.

I find no wrong in calling down, however I would raise the turn, (if he calls and he's beat you have 1 extra BB won from this hand); if he 3 bets I fold.

And if A8 just calls cause he's afraid of your kicker, you lose an extra BB. You're simply not going to get to fold here often enough to give you the ability to raise.
