In a 6 handed game? I think that there is some merit to that... if button had folded and it was looking to be heads up. But folding here seems to me to be giving WAY TOO MUCH UP. Please let me know your reasoning here.

The preflop call is just fine. You're 6-handed, in the big blind getting a whole bunch:1, and have a '19' in blackjack. Take a look at the flop.

because he was reffering to how it would show up in poker tracker.

Essential you could look in a database and over a long period of time calling in this situation in poker tracker would read as <.5 (i'm pretty sure).

"I would like to hear how betting the flop makes things easier."

Here comes the flop. Not just this flop on this hand, but any flop in a three-handed single-raised pot. Nobody knows that anyone has anything. If I check and they bet, then I still don't know if they have anything, and they still don't know if I have anything. But if I bet, then they know I have something, and the information exchange begins now rather than later, and that is to the advantage of whichever of the three players is best at accumulating and processing and reacting to information, and that rates to be me.

Plus, they might fold.

Tommy

You do rule, Boris. There has never been any doubt about that.

fold preflop. since you played it you might as well c/r the turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

Folding has an expectation of -.5 bb/hand. There is no way calling has this same negative expectation. It's very hard to wrap your mind around it unless you have looked at these things in a database, but having an expectation of -.5bb/hand is very, very difficult. Especially if you play well postflop.
