Default Thunderbird Casino Poker Room: changes

Thunderbird's poker room in Oklahoma has just recently changed their rake from 5 max to 3 max. They moved from the east side of the building into a nicer room in the center of the casino. They added a progressive bad beat jackpot, which started out at 5k. New tables and chairs are being ordered and eventually they will incorporate shuffle masters.

peace

Are you sure they changed their rake? From what I understand it is still set at $5 max with an extra $1 taken from the SB to feed the jackpot that doesn't start until Monday.

As of right now, they rake $3 for the "house" and take $1 for the bad beat jackpot/pool. The one buck for the pool is for the players only, and Thunderbird only recieves the $3 rake.

Glad to hear they are changing rooms. I hope it's bigger than the first room, it could get pretty congested sometimes.

Have they started holding touney's there yet?

The "new" room is slightly bigger. The ceiling height is a lot higher (which helps). As for tournaments, those are still in the works. They are a priority, just not at the top of the list. I would guess before the end of August we have freerolls and other multi tourneys.

I really hope you are right but I honestly think you may be mistaken. I don't see T-bird dropping their rake to $3 max to make the players happy, because honestly from what I've seen since I've played there, they could really care less what makes the players happy.

I am right, I am working there right now. We have semi-new management. We are currently only raking the $3 for the house and the $1 for the player's bad beat jackpot/pool, as of JULY 23rd.

peace and good luck

Hey neverwould,
How are you guys set on dealer's? My wife and I are dealer's. We have worked in Mississippi and now currently Vegas. We are both from Norman. Now that OKla. is opening up we are looking for a move back in Dec. I hear Fire Lake and Goldsby are building some big ones. I hear Fire Lake will open around Feb. Is that true? When is the scheduled opening for Goldsby? Do you know if they both are planning on having card rooms? size / # tables? Hopefully with auto shufflers. It's kinda funny I left Okla. in the early 90's to become a dealer down in Biloxi, Ms. and now they are gambling right in my old back yard. Another thing, Do any of the current OKC area casino's spread a regular red chip limit game? I know that with espn and all that no-limit is the game of choice especially among the younger crowd. Several years ago you would never find a no-limit holdem game. Maybe pot limit omaha but that was about it. I heard that red chip limit games are regulary spread in catoosa and at the winstar. But how about the OKC area? The biggest I have heard of so far is a 6-12 game at Lucky Star. So far I have heard of card rooms in Newcastle, Thunderbird, Lucky star and the 2 others being built (goldsby/Fire Lake) Any other's I don't know about? Also when are you guys scheduled to get auto shuffler's? It's a win win situation for everyone. Add 50+ % to your tokes. If you would like you can email me at acekingsuited@cox.net Maybe I can answer any questions you might have pertaining to Mississippi or Nevada, Thanks for any info you can provide. John & Cristina NHS class of 86.
PS. How's the commission on 21 working out? 21 dealer's making any $$$? Cali. used to do the same thing but they dropped it after about 10 years. I look for OK. to do the same after everyone gets tired of being ripped off. Thanks again
