River decision

Is this a good spot for a check-fold? I can't really see him calling with any hands I beat (maybe Tx but I think he might muck it since the ace came), while if he has K i'm sure he'll call the river. If I check, I don't see if betting with any hands that I beat although I really don't have that much of a read on this player. |

Re: River decision
IMO this is a good spot for a check call. I cant fold this river, nor can I bet it. He will potentially bet smaller pairs that you beat as well as Ax's. I cant fold this river because a loose caller in the cutoff could hold a variety of hands that you still beat. I dont see a possible bet here as he typically folds most hands that you beat and calls most hands that you are behind. I'm rather drunk so if this is just stupid i apologize though it seems logical right now.

Re: River decision
I think bet and fold to a raise OR check/call are both viable options - I would bet vs a calling station, and check/call vs an aggressive player.

Re: River decision
If you're going to check, you have to check fold. Check-calling seems unlikely to elicit a bluff here, since it's so unlikely your opponent has a missed draw on the river. In light of that, betting is far superior to check-calling, as your opponent will call with many hands that he won't bet, like JTs, QTs, 99 - 66.
Since I'd have a hard time check-folding this, I'd bet it. Good luck. Eric |
