little sunday night trop 300NL 1/2 blinds 8 handed
hero: $380 villian: $160 after only playing for an hour I notice villian is solid. hero dealt J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in SB. UTG folds, villian UTG2 calls, MP calls, fold, fold, button calls, hero calls, BB checks. flop 5 players $10 Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] hero checks, villian bets $10, folds back to hero who calls. turn: $30 K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] hero checks, villian bets $15, hero calls. river $60 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] hero checks, villian bets $25, hero calls. I know this is not interesting but I am having a problem with hands like these. Should I have folded the turn? What does he have based on his line? |

Re: Is this standard? JQo SB
Personally, I probably would have folded pre-flop. In a multi-way pot, hands like JQo or KTo have little value. To complete the small blind here, you preobably want a hand that works well in multi-way pots. Hands that have a small chance of flopping a big hand. Hands like 66, 44, 56s, TJs. This way, you can take a flop generally risk-free.
Anyway, I doubt your queens are good here. |

If you are going to check the flop, you should check/raise it. Betting is also good. Check/calling is about the worst thing you can do.
