Per rotoworld, the Sox will pay roughly $11M of the $29M owed to Edgar. And they intend on keeping Marte rather than flip in another deal.

Amazing, isn't it? The Red Sox made the playoffs 3 straight years and they have blown it up. As of now, the entire infield will be all different players than from last year.

And they're not done yet. Damon is unsigned, they're still looking to move Manny and Nixon has been rumored in different trade scenario's. So it's theoretically possible that the only position player from last year will be Varitek. Pretty amazing.

Gorden Edes of the Globe is reporting that they are focusing on a free agent shortstop, not Lugo. not sure why.
