Default I played with him at Foxwoods

We were in a $240 shootout. He played well (well, better than I did). He was very personal, and never got upset by the people coming by for autographs (even when he was in a hand, he just asked them to wait a minute).

He did get quiet when someone complained that he was talking too much about his site and that it sounded like a commercial -- someone else had asked him several questions about it and he was only answering and was naturally exhuberant.

I saw him a couple of days later playing in the $1000 NLH tournament.

Hi bud:

David Sklansky and I spent a few minutes at the WSOP talking to James Woods. He was easy going but also it was clear that he is very smart.

best wishes,
Mason

Hi Mason,
I figure thats saying something coming from you because I figure you to be a pretty smart guy yourself. I pretty much assume anyone with a degree in mathematics is at least up in the top 1 percentile area or thereabouts. Someone else in this thread mentioned something about Mensa and I wasn't sure if they meant that literally. Is he actually like way up there in the IQ Department?

Tom

He went to MIT. Last I heard that didn't admit a lot of stupid people.

I was amused by his hyper-talking nature when I saw him. If you watch him interviewed, it's pretty clear that he's a thinker, that he thinks very quickly, and that his thoughts are accurately and seamlessly delivered to his mouth. Very articulate.

And if you haven't seen him in Salvador, you're really missing out.

Yes, James does have an IQ of 180, that's a fact. He's quite brilliant.

He also loves the game most of us love, poker. IMO he's a great ambassador for poker. He's a real class act. I would love to see him win a large tournament, couldn't happen to a nicer guy IMHO.

Played 5/10 NL with Woods, at the Hustler casino in LA.

He's very tight and was easy to run over. He was very talkative and I don't think he was playing very seriously, just having fun.

I recall him being by himself, no escort or security or anything.

I didn't play with him...but he always seemed to be in my section during the prelim events and satellites.

He seemed to playing a lot the daily 3pm or 7pm tourneys they were having ($300 or $500 or whatever).

My observation on James Woods is that he has a large head (not referring to ego...just the size of his cranium).
He was playing a lot during the times I was at the rio.
