Check out Brian Regan - he's real funny, and has some CDs that are worth listening to.

He had a 1/2 hour on Comedy Central once - that was some of his best stuff.

Not a CD, but this DVD of Ralphie May here is excellent

May makes fun of everyone regardless of race, gender, etc.

Its not that expensive either, I highly recommend it.

Thing about Eddie to me is, he's so cerebral, that he's more 'chuckle' funny, or, 'hmmmm, yes, that's pretty funny' funny, as opposed to Dave Chappelle rofl piss-your-pants funny.

That's what I mean by not for everyone. My brother-in-law, for example. Great guy, but not well read when it comes to history, political science type stuff - and he doesn't really get Eddie Izzard at all. But if you know the basics of European history, classic literature etc. it's magnitudes funnier.

Darko, good call on Ron White. He's pretty great.

Some mentioned Bill Hicks, he's great. Try Robert Schimmel and Richard Jeni, they're also great.
