Default a 33 ITM hand. Do you call here?

30+3 party poker Tourney Texas Hold'em Game Table (NL)

Total number of players left 3 and blinds t250/t500

Villian -- Who at this point in the tournament I suspect is 2+2 but I am not sure -- is the button with t1400 and he pushes

SB with t3900 folds

Hero in bb with t2200 (after posting t500) and A,4o. It is t900 to call.

should I call or fold and why?

You should likely be calling with a wide variety of hands. Just from a pot odds stand point. You're getting 2.1:1 pot odds to call. The only reason not to call with a good hand is because you know your opponents will make a mistake and not call your pushes with these kinds of odds.

Anyhow, villain should be pushing a wide range of hands here, and A4 is ahead here most of the time, IMO.

I'd call with a pretty wide range here. A4o definitely included.

If you suspect Villain is 2+2, it means he's a pushbot.

Gotta call a pushbot here.

I might fold a truly disastrous hand here against a tightish player - something like 52o - but I'm calling with the VAST majority of hands. A4 is so good that I would have done a little fist pump when i was dealt it. Folding is totally out of the question.

Easy call due to the following:

You're ITM.
A4 is a strong hand 3 handed.
You have ~4.5xBB.
You have amazing pot odds.
You have a read on your opponent that he/she is likely quite aggro (I'm assuming this is what you mean by 2+2er).
This shouldn't be close.

I would auto call here. a,4 is a huge hand 3 handed with the blinds at 250/500 and people are pushing much worse hands then this.

I was villian in this hand... I'll break this down to 'in general' and 'last night'.

Last night, you should have called because I was in the middle of my worst downswing ever. I told you I had A4 as well, but A4 vs. A4 is just the type of hand I would have lost. You'd think we were tied, but no... you were actually about a 90% favorite due to the likelyhood that you would have hit a 4-flush.

In general, I still think you should have called. You're getting great odds and only have not-quite-5 BBs after posting. I'm in even worse shape and you expected I was 2+2, so you know I'm pushing a very wide range here. A4 is well ahead of a lot of what me, and most other competent players, are pushing in this situation.
