Too many people have nothing going for them but a 4- or 5- digit post count, and people making a LOT of posts a day, often aren't making very substantial posts. It'd be like saying that any kook who writes 10 letter a day to the President should be a senior policy advisor.

That is not to say that this is still not a good thing though. Party needs to stay ahead of this as much as possible.

The question you should ask is should you care that there are many bots on these sites. Most of the bots are horrible and I don't mind playing against them/it. Now... if someone had a bot like Poki then I would be scared...

Probably not - this type of verification relies on pattern recognition (you're shown a picture and you have to recognize the shapes as letters) which is a hard problem in AI.
