River: 6 clubs. Checked to UTG + 3 who bets. UTG calls and I muck

I physically cringed and verbally anguished while in my training class (yeah everyone looked at me like I just crashed the software again) when I read this line.

Default Results...

Thanks everyone for the comments.

I think the general consensus was that I played the entire hand ok except for the river. I haven't played with the guy much, but he seemed to fit my profile of someone who only makes a move like that on the turn when he has a flush. More of a weak tightish player. My plan was to lead the turn and if I got raised my UTG + 3 or MP1, to call the raise on the turn and then muck the river if I didn't improve.

Anyway, UTG+3 shows A5 diamonds for the flopped nuts and UTG shows KK with K diamonds.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Nice laydown. I'm not sure I would have made it. Good play.

if you are staying in on the turn, you need to call the river unless there is a raise

I treated the hand like a missed draw on the river. That's why I didn't call the river.

Except you don't have a missed draw, you have three of a kind that failed to improve to a full house. The pot is large enough that I think your DEFAULT play should be to call in this situation, unless you have a tremendous read, in which case we can't really help you out unless we have played with this opponent before.

UTG+3 called 2 cold on the flop, and then called the cap. He then all of the sudden wakes up on the turn, how much more obvious does he have to make it that he has the nut flush. Seemed pretty obvious to me, and fortunately drbk2 too. Played it fine all the way through.
