Default Pre-flop decision with 77 at the Aussie Gateway FT

8 handed in PP Aussie Gateway (66 entrants, 555+35).
1st and 2nd get 11k Aussie package.

Pretty good reads on almost the whole table, but the villain is the exception. Only experience with him has been the few hands thus far in the FT. However, I was watching the other table from when we got down to 20 players, and never noticed the villain do anything note-worthy, which may mean he is tight just as much as it may mean that I was preoccupied with my own table while we was playing like a maniac.

Except for a hand where I called an AI with AK and busted the 10th place finisher, I have not been active thus far at the FT, I was however fairly active when my table was short handed around the FT bubble.

Skill wise I feel like I have a pretty good edge on the field, especially MP2 who I think is playing pretty bad, especially SH.

BB (t4537)
UTG (t3350)
UTG+1 (t5306)
MP1 (t2446)
MP2 (t12457)
CO (t11591)

P.S.
I actually ended up winning one of the seats in this thing - so I'm going to Australia!!

Congrats! Best of luck and have a blast! I think a fold is ok here, as you have an edge on the table, and aren't ahead by much if it's overcards, and are way behind any pair.

<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>

Board:
Dead:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 50.3933 % 49.80% 00.59% { 22+, A8s+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, T9s, ATo+ }
Hand 2: 49.6067 % 49.01% 00.59% { 77 }
</pre><hr />

I think his range is really wide here, and you're getting 1.6:1 and vs that range you're 50/50 so i think it's pretty clearly +cEV.

If you fold: 9300 : 23 BB's : 3rd stack gonna need to double
if you call &amp; lose: 4800 : 12 BB's : 5th stack, gonna need to doubled two or three times
if you call &amp; win: 16400 : 41 BB's : chipleader might be able to fold in.

hm.

i think it's a call.

Wow, that's a really wide range. I usually STT, I don't really know. Really interesting though. Is this range typical of most FT's in this situation?

Even if i tighten it up considerably:

<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 54.5455 % 53.85% 00.70% { 44+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+ }
Hand 2: 45.4545 % 44.76% 00.70% { 77 } </pre><hr />

it's +cEV. and i don't think it changes my decision.

der... sorry, I'm retarded. Forgot about the considerable amount in the pot, and that's what makes it a call. Thanks bro.

Ty very much. While many have been driving toward the PCA, I've been trying for this, so it was a great thrill to win.
It's Jan 15-19.
It's 18+ (though I am 23).
The Party Package is actually far better than the Stars one IMO (Stars is 4 nights, Party 8, Stars gives $1000 travel+spending, Party is 2000). Paradise is also running sats and I think what they offer might be better then both PS and PP, but I don't play there and I don't know for sure.

I hope a bunch of the MTT regulars will be there. I think there was a thread that said Gavin won a seat, don't know about anyone else.

Doh, can't beleive i missed that you won the seat.

CONGRATS! Thats freaking awesome, Australia looks sweet.

edit: and yea Gavin won a package a few months ago, if i recall.

I'm planning on trying one of the ones on Stars at some point, so if thats the same tournament, maybe i can get lucky, and see you there.
