What is the Bunching Effect?

[/ QUOTE ]
"It is simply the idea that once many players have passed on the opening round, the probability of good hands appearing among the remaining players has now increased." It is the difference between playing 6-handed, and playing 10-handed when the first 4 players have folded. Some people say the effect is negligible in Hold'em. I think this is based on wishful thinking, not logic. It's complicated to determine how strong the bunching effect is, since you have to guess which hands the players in early position would have played. Once you have a model for what these players would have played, calculating the effect on the remaining hands is not simple.
