Default I\'m a $200 PLO/8 calling station

I hate the way I checked and called this hand the whole way, yet I can't think of another way to play it. Does anyone play it differently?

Turn: ($72) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, MP3 checks, Button bets $26, Hero calls $26, UTG calls $26, MP3 calls $26.

River: ($176) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)

You could have raised that weak-looking bet on the flop and then lead out on the turn, that might have taken it down.

Feels kinda value betting with A23 from the other guy. Wonder what his 4th card was....

That would certainly be a more aggressive line. When it came back around to me, I called figuring it couldn't possibly be a mistake getting 5:1 odds. On the other hand, I wasn't as confident that my hand was strong enough to play heads-up for all my chips against a single opponent. Given the choice between an easy +EV call or a possible -EV mistake, I chose the easy call. Of course, that doesn't consider folding equity, which may be quite large given the betting action on the flop.

Pretty good read. Villain had A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] which was good for 3/4 of the pot.

Ok why are you calling the flop when you saw two others call? Tell me what card were you hoping for on the turn?

Ill tell you, you dont like a single turn card outside of a low diamond and even then all it does is make you hope for a draw that is coming roughly 20% of the time with 1 card to come.

This is an easy fold on the flop given the action that took place. I mean say a miracle 10 comes on the turn first guy bets, a guy snaps and reraises, What do you do?

Im not saying that will happen, but there is definately something there when 2 people call the bet, also what makes you think you are the only low? There is no way another A/2 is not out there.

Think about why you are calling, and no nut low against 4 people is not good enough.

Also the reraise and pick it up on the turn plan, thats good given you have position, you could raise and hope for a 9 or higher then you could jam and pick it up. If a low card comes you check and then get potted on the river and lose the least you could by only getting quartered in a small pot. Its an aggressive move that can work given your position. Maybe once in a while you run into a worst high. Also on the other side of the coin you will run into a set of queens who was playing it slow cause of slow cards every one in a while as well, but overall its a move that could work and can help your image if the low comes and they see your pair of 5's.
