Default How wrong did I play this river??

Dont have the hand history to post, but its been bugging me all day.

I was playing 5/10 at UB. Folded to late/mid position loose player who limped. In cut off, with AQs I raise. Folded around to limper who calls.

Flop QJ9 rainbow. Limper bets, I raise. Limper calls.

Turn 5d - two diamonds on board now. Limper checks, I bet. Limper calls.

River 7h - Limper checks. I bet. Limper raises, I call.

Limper takes down the $107 (10.7 BB) pot with Q7 off.

Should I ever have bet out on the river? I do think this is the type of player that would call with any pair.

Should I have definetly folded to the raise? Its a big pot, and I doubt theres even a 10% chance of any player trying to bluff in this spot.

You've answered your own questions. Bet the river since he'll call with worse hands. Fold to his raise because he's raising a worse hand/bluffing less than 10% of the time.

When playing against loose passive players you'll bet/fold in a lot of situations.

Hi Sintax,

You will do very well in this game by taking the simple approach of always betting the river, and never folding to a raise. It's just that easy.

If you want to go from good to great, you can focus on the nuances of when to check behind, and when to fold to the raise. These are very minor points though, don't sweat them too much until you're posting in the mid-high forum.

my 2 cents.
