Default Help me increase my PLO/8 VP$IP

I've always been a very tight player, but have managed to avoid becoming a total rock by adding in high doses of post-flop aggression. It's a style that works for me, but after hearing about the EV that tighter players are potentially giving up, I'm curious what are these "speculative hands" that I should be playing?

Right now, I will play...
1) Any A2xx
2) All but the trashiest A3xx
3) Nearly every 234x
4) 23xx with decent sidecards or good position
5) Big pairs AAxx--JJxx with decent sidecards or good position
6) Any 4 cards T or higher that are at least single suited

What other hands could I be missing?? Should I be seeing a flop with any suited Ace? What about A4 my stronger hands? My VP$IP over my last 40,000 hands is down to 18.5%.

When you sat down at my table the other day, I had your VP$IP as around 10-- That's Rainaruby territory. My VP$IP is 24 and I would add A4 suited A5 suited (without raises and possibly based on position) also any 4 (10 or higher) unsuited, again unraised and in position. I think an argument could be made for playing any suited Ace on an unraised pot, but I don't play that way.

If you can still get action playing with a VP$IP of 18, which I think you can, I don't see anything wrong with that. I have plenty of days like that where I have done quite well.

Good question. I'm at 17.5% and sometimes think my hands are too marginal as it is (like weak A2xy). I'd be curious what kind of numbers Ribbo has as he seems to also frown on the marginal hands that more often get you in trouble.

In general I just want to be the least-loose player at an ultra-loose table.

At a table full of people waiting for "Over 20 Hutchison Points" I will leave (for one thing, it drives me insane waiting for them to do the math).

Ribbo does not use PTO, but with 1000 hands or so, I have him at a VP$IP of 33. But I rarely see him showing down cards that I would not play.

Throw in
- A4, A5 suited
- 4 > 10 unsuited
I will play them from LP in an unraised pot and from MP if there are a couple of limpers in front of me.

I'll start working those hands into my repertoire. Goop, have you upped your VP$IP at all from the ~ 20% range when you last posted you PTO stats? I read through that thread before I posted last night and you said increasing your VP$IP was one of your objectives. Any success doing so?

In my last 5K hands of PLO8 my VP$IP was 23, so yes and no.

However I think for that 4 tabling at low levels 23 is about what I want. Before I started trying to up my VP$IP I was hovering around 16 and there is a large difference between 16 and 23.
