Default Poker cheating

Are there any books that deal specifically with poker cheating? Of course not to learn to cheat, but to protect myself. I was at MGM Grand in a 2/5NL game. One of the players complained out loud because the dealer had a weak deal. He was able to see the cards being dealt. If he had been dishonest, it could have been bad for the other players at the table.

Then a couple of days later at Orleans, at 2/5NL, another player complained that the ace of spade was marked.

Stuff like this has got me paranoid. Ever since then, I now look at the back of both my cards and I also check to see if I can make out anything when the dealer deals.

Scarne's Guide to Modern Poker talks about the mechanics of it and how to spot it.

The PokerMafia site talks about collusion.

The most thorough source is Steve Forte's four-volume "Gambling Protection" series of videotapes, but it'll cost you a fair amount. (You could skip the fourth volume on dice.)

A cheaper source would be Darwin Ortiz's Gambling Scams. (If you're more interested in learning to do the sleights rather than how to spot them, get Erdnase.)

Well one side note on this. I am 6'5" and almost everytime i play live i have to tell someone they are showing me their cards. I always lean real far back in my chair so people are constantly flashing me. Luckily i am honest.

So that's where Erik Seidel and Phil Gordon get their edge from.
