Default What\'s wrong with this BJ strategy?

If you bet the min, say $1, if you win, you bet the min again, if you lose, you bet $3 next. If you lost, bet 7, if you lost bet 15. Then stop at 15 if you lose and bet $1 again. I figure you have more than a 50% chance of losing, but let's just say 50%. 0.50^4=0.0625 So the expected value of an average four hand series is 4*0.9375 - 26*0.0625 right? Isn't that +EV?

1/2 of the time, you win $1, 1/4 you win $2 1/8 you win $3 1/16 you win $4 1/16 you lose $26 ,(1 * 1/2) + (2 * 1/4) + (3 * 1/8) + (4 * 1/16) - (26 * 1/16) = 0 which means your strategy breaks even if blackjack was an even EV game.

Betting progressions try to get a positive number by adding up a bunch of negative numbers. What a shock! It doesn't work.

This is not a BJ strategy -- it's a wagering strategy.

You lose 4 in a row a lot more often than you think, and when you do your strategy goes out the window cause it will take you a while to make it back $1 at a time.

This is not a BJ strategy -- it's a gambling junkie strategy.
