Default Recurring Situation - Smoothcall Preflop/Overpush Flop???

I've been running into this more often lately, like its the new trend in assclown poker. How do you guys handle this?

An example hand - lets say 5-10, normal game.

Hero in MP with 10 10. Raise to 40. Villain calls on the button.

Flop 357 rainbow.

Hero pots it, villain pushes for another 600.

Normally I just kick it in here unless there I have a great read that he's drawing, sitting on a set, or has a bigger overpair.

Generally, what do you find that villain holds in these situations. Weak, scared players sometimes play KK/QQ/JJ this way it seems, but some agressive players that I sit with have been getting frisky like this with smaller pairs or even AK.

Is this a new, dumbass trend in poker or does this style have merit? Either way, what is your opinion on the best way to combat it?

Or am I just playing in a goofy game, which is certainly possible?

I fold here. If they're making this move with slick you'll get their money soon enough.

You getting 4 to 3 for your money to call and too often its JJ or QQ, set, or some other backward a ss hand.
