Rick, you gotta call the bike and tell them to extend coverage tonight for another half hour or hour! This is too good to end in 15 minutes from now!

Rick, it would seem that a good feature to have an instant feedback put in, so someone like you (if you're available) can help advise them in situations like that. Instant feedback would also be good about any particular questions viewers may have, and could maybe include them in the broadcast.

OK, did 44 show his hand BEFORE the deal was made??

He had to. Here is an early version of the procedure I wrote for the Bike a while back (originally formatted in MS Word with lots of neat bolding ):

“Dealing Twice” Procedures For No Limit and Pot Limit Holdem
Rick Nebiolo – August 5, 2003 – Version 2

The Bicycle Casino does not permit "insurance" or any other “proposition” wagers in no limit and pot limit. Management will decline to make decisions in such matters, and the pot will be awarded to the best hand. However, two players are allowed to agree to “deal twice” (or three times) when someone is all-in. “Dealing twice” means the pot is divided in two, with each portion being dealt for separately. This can be agreed to before the flop, before fourth-street or before the river card is dealt. The pot is awarded based on the outcomes of the final combinations on board. If both parties don’t agree, “dealing twice” is not allowed. This is very simple and best explained using examples:

First, the simplest example: The board reads Kc-Qc-Jc-5c and Player A (holding Ac-Ad) is all-in in against Player B (holding Jd-Jh). Before the river is dealt, they agree to “run it out two times” to reduce their risk. The dealer burns and turns the first river card, pushes it up to make room, and then burns and turns a second river card and places it below the first river card. The cards are left face up on the table until the outcome of the hands is determined.

In this example the board reads Kc-Qc-Jc-5c.
- The 1st river card is the Qd (Player B wins with jacks full of queens).
- The 2nd river card is the 3h (Player A wins with an ace high flush).

Since each player won one pot, the pot is split. Any odd chip goes to the player seated clockwise from the button.

Next, a slightly more complicated example: The flop is Kc-Qc-Jc and Player A (holding Ac-Ad) is all-in in a big pot against Player B (holding Jd-Jh). Before 4th street is dealt, they agree to “run it out three times”. The dealer burns and turns 4th street and then burns and turns the river card. This is repeated until three combinations of 4th street and the river card are dealt.

In this example the flop reads Kc-Qc-Jc.
- The 1st turn-river is Qd-2c. (Player B wins with jacks full of queens).
- The 2nd turn-river is 5c-3h. (Player A wins with an ace high flush).
- The 3rd turn-river is Ah-Ks. (Player A wins with aces full of kings).

Since one player didn’t win all three pots, the pot is split into three equal portions. Since Player A won two of the pots, he would be awarded two of the pots and Player B is awarded one pot.

Note that other combinations of “dealing twice” or “dealing three times” can occur as long as the pot is head up and one player is all-in. For example, two players can agree that three river cards be dealt out. Two players can agree that the flop, turn and river be dealt out two (or three times). A final example is where two players agree that two turn and river card combinations be dealt out.

From the original article I saw, they would start charging in March at $20/month. Last week one of the commentators (not Denny or Bart) mentioned there was a 90 day beta test, which the person directing the programming didn't seem to want that mentioned.

My understanding is we have a contract of sorts for up to X amount of time and bandwidth so it has to end at 10:00 pm. Personally, I'm amazed the streaming video quality has been so good. I hope we can maintain it as an increasing audience sucks up bandwidth.

From what Tim the floor guy mentioned, seat 5 only made a deal where the river would only be run 1 or 3 times, NOT 2.

Do you mean the ability to call into the booth to correct mistakes (such as the explanation of dealing three times)? Hmm, I'm not sure that would work or be well received - plus there is enough going on in there as it is. Anyway, I'm off work now and having a cocktail

Also, there is a five minute delay and there might be a security problem.

In case you missed it, elswhere in this thread I posted more than anyone needs to know about dealing twice (or thrice).

My best friend's wife once said: "Ask Rick what time it is and he will tell you how to build a watch." Was she being hyperbolic?

Holy crap @ the set-over-set-over-set hand on a 3-heart board.

Rick, can you give us an idea of how many people are typically logged on to view the action? If I had to guess, I'd say at any given time there may be 300-500 people watching, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was 3k-5k.
