Difference between 3/6 and 4/8 in LA
Is there a meaningful one? Last time I was there, I palyed 3/6 (because it was what I was playing at home). Now I'm up to 5/10 at home. I know the LA games tend to be more LAG-gy than I normally play, so I'm thinking I'll stick to the 3/6 when I'm out there in 2 weeks. However, if the 4/8 (or even 6/12 maybe) is markedly calmer than the 3/6, I might give those a shot.

The difference between 3/6 and 4/8 is a buck on the small bet and a deuce on the big.

Re: Difference between 3/6 and 4/8 in LA
Hi,
I play in LA and I don't see much difference between 3/6 and 4/8. Most of the times you will have people playing too many hands with almost "any two" and playing them too far. Of course, the pots will be bigger in 4/8. You will also find cycles of loose vs. tighter but I don't see much difference between the limits. |

The 4-8 is generally wilder. At least it is at Commerce, Hawaiian Gardens, and Hollywood Park.

Re: Difference between 3/6 and 4/8 in LA
i think there is a big difference at Commerce, 4/8 is filled with a bunch of absolutely nuts regulars, while 3/6 plays a tighter, but still loose. At hustler, 4/8 seemed slightly tighter to me than 3/6, but I have limited experiences there. Be prepared for the massive swings of the commerce 4/8, and dont show up underbankrolled!

Re: 1/2?
I suppose I could point out to all the wisenheimers that there is no difference between 3/6 and 4/8 as both are one-half.

[/ QUOTE ] you must experience the commerce low limits.. for some reason 4/8 attracts the nuts and regulars, which might have something to do with 3/6 and 4/8 being in a different place in the cardroom from 1/2 and 2/4, and the second limit up is generally the loosest. At commerce 4/8 every few hands is capped preflop, and at the 3/6 it happens maybe once every half hour. |
